NVIDIA 3D Vision

Article last updated:

If you are using a nVidia GPU and are experiencing any of the following issues:

  • zView set up pattern has extreme flickering with no other applications running.
  • zView set up wizard appears to not be responsive to mouse clicks and may appear to have overlapping windows.
  • zView-enabled applications when connected to zView come up in 2D. In some cases, zView might be showing what appears to be a 3D image.
  • zSpace applications launching in Anaglyph Stereo (Red / Green).

The workaround is to uninstall 3D Vision and block buffer-flipping.

To uninstall 3D Vision:

  1. Press the Windows Start Button and type Programs and Features.
  2. Click on Programs and Features within your search results.
  3. Scroll through the list until you find NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver or NVIDIA Vision Controller Driver as shown below.
  4. If either of these options are found, double click on the entry. Follow the default options to uninstall.

Next, disable Buffer-Flipping

  1. Right-click on the Windows desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Using the below image as a guideline:
  3. Along left column select Manager 3D Settings.
  4. Under Global Presets select Base Profile.
  5. Scroll down the list until you find Buffer-Flipping mode and change to Use block transfer.
  6. Under Global Presets select 3D App - Default Global Settings.
  7. Again scroll down the list until you find Buffer-Flipping mode and change to Use block transfer.
  8. Select Apply and close NVIDIA Control Panel.
  9. Reboot your PC.
