Installing zSpace System Software

Each zSpace has a specific version of zSpace System Software. This article will walk you through the steps to install and uninstall your zSpace System Software.

Installing the zSpace System Software

Steps for zSpace System Software 5.0.2.241 and newer

  1. Download the corresponding System Software for the zSpace hardware you have. Be sure to also select the correct version for your Operating System. zSpace System Software downloads may be found here.
  2. Once the file is downloaded, run the file to install your zSpace System Software.
  3. If you already have any version of zSpace System Software installed, you will see the following image. Select Ok to uninstall the prior version.
  4. After any prior version of zSpace System Software is removed, the installation process will start.
  5. Select Next to begin the installation.
  6. Read the license agreement. If you agree, select I Agree to continue.
  7. The installation process will begin. All drivers and required software will install and the firmware update on your zSpace will proceed without any user interaction required. You may see your display flash or turn off and on during the firmware update process. This is expected and normal behavior.
  8. After the firmware update has completed, select Finish to complete the installation. You may be prompted to run the zSpace Control Panel or System Check.
  9. After installing the zSpace System Software, be sure to run the zSpace Control Panel to test your system is functioning correctly.

 

Steps for zSpace System Software 5.0.1 and older

Note:  If you are updating the System Software on your system, you will need to uninstall the existing System Software first.  Please see the section on "Uninstall Existing System Software".

  1. Download the corresponding System Software for the zSpace hardware you have. Be sure to also select the correct version for your Operating System. zSpace System Software downloads may be found here.
  2. Once the file is downloaded, run the file to install your zSpace System Software.
  3. Select Next to begin the installation.
  4. Read the license agreement. If you agree, select I Agree to continue.
  5. Select Next to install for all users using this computer.
  6. Select Next to install to the default location on your PC.
  7. Finally, click Install to select the Start Menu shortcut location and being the installation.
  8. You might be prompted by Windows to agree to allow the installation of drivers for zSpace hardware. Check Allow for all zSpace Drivers and select Next.
  9. After the installation of the software, you will see a prompt asking to update the firmware for your zSpace. Select Yes
  10. You will see a second prompt warning you to not disconnect power during the update process. Select Yes again to start the firmware update.
  11. You may see your display flash or turn off and on during the firmware update process. This is expected and normal behavior.
  12. After the firmware update has completed, select Finish to complete the installation. You may be prompted to run the zSpace Control Panel or System Check.

After installing the zSpace System Software, be sure to run the zSpace Control Panel to test your system is functioning correctly. 

 

Uninstall existing zSpace System Software

Before installing a different version of zSpace System Software, the existing zSpace System Software must be uninstalled. 

  1. Open Windows Programs and Features
    • For Windows 8: Click the Windows Start button and type Programs and Features. Click on the Programs and Features shortcut that appears under the search bar.
    • For Windows 7 and 10: Click the Windows Start button and type Programs and Features. Click on the Programs and Features shortcut that appears in the Start Menu.
  2. Scroll through the list of installed applications on your computer until you find zSpace System. Double click on zSpace System.
  3. Select Uninstall to remove zSpace System Software.
  4. Click Finish.
