Touchscreen: Enabling or Disabling

To enable or disable the Touchscreen on a zSpace 300 with Touchscreen, use the following procedure:

  1. Open task manager by right-clicking the Windows taskbar and selecting "Task Manager".
  2. Under the "Services" tab locate "zSpaceTrackingService", right-click on it and select "Stop". If you do not see the "Services" tab, click on "More details" first at the bottom of the window.
  3. Make sure that the status for the tracking service changes to "Stopped".
  4. Open Window device manager by right clicking the Windows start button in the lower right corner and clicking "Device Manager".
  5. Expand the section labeled "Human Interface Devices" and locate the "HID-compliant touch screen" device.
  6. Right- click the "HID-compliant touch screen" device.
  7. To enable the touchscreen, select "Enable".  If there is no option, that means it is already enabled.
  8. To disable the touchscreen, select "Disable".  If there is no option, it means that it is already disabled.
  9. Close the device manager.
  10. Open task manager by right-clicking the Windows taskbar and selecting "Task Manager".
  11. Under the "Services" tab locate "zSpace Tracking Service", right-click on it and select "Start".
  12. Make sure that the status for the tracking service changes to "Running".
  13. Touch the screen with a finger and verify that the touch panel is behaving as you desire, either enabled or disabled based on your setting.
  14. Open a zSpace application and then close the application.
  15. Again, at the desktop, touch the screen with a finger and verify that the touch panel is behaving as you desire, either enabled or disabled based on your setting.
